About Us

Award Capital Advisory Ltd. (“Award”) is an investment advisory firm focused on capital formation in the alternative investment industry.  Since Award was founded in 2009, we have successfully raised over $700 million for hedge funds, private equity funds, direct equity series, distressed and illiquid private credit, REITS and commercial real estate funds.

Our aim is to build long-term strategic partnerships with best-in-class managers in their respective asset classes. We then introduce these managers to a targeted list of pre-screened investors with whom we have long-standing relationships. Our client base includes Family Offices, Investment Advisors, Endowments, Pension Funds, Fund of Funds, and Insurance Companies.

Award is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (Account Number: 505266) in the UK.  All securities transactions for US clients are handled by TGP Securities, Inc., registered with the SEC, and a member of FINRA and the SIPC.

Distribution Capability

Award partners with top performing alternative investment managers looking to execute asset-raising campaigns. We work with funds of all sizes; raising seed capital for start-ups, as well as growing assets of established Funds, some of whom manage in excess of $1bln. Our large and varied network of institutional investors allows us to offer our investment managers global distribution capabilities and the delivery of important asset growth.

This extensive network of general partners and allocators has steered us to towards diverse and compelling investment opportunities, and by concentrating on scalable firms who employ diversified investment strategies, we maintain alignment with both our investors and the firms we represent.

Currently, we are working with fund’s whose aggregate assets are in excess of $4bln across a variety of strategies including Real Estate, Energy Trading, Equity Long-Short, Distressed Debt/Equity, Event Driven Long-Short, Emerging Markets and Fixed Income Arbitrage.

Marketing Strategy

The investment proposition comprises many dimensions. Our goal is twofold: to assist our Managers implement important marketing factors that can enhance their product offering, while at the same time reducing the burden of maintaining continuous investor dialogue. We provide advisory and execution in the following areas by:

    • Assessing competitive positioning and providing market intelligence
    • Improving marketing materials & Fund documentation
    • Managing Investor relation process and function, including introduction of strategy and timely provision of information to investors
    • Fund terms: fund structure, fees, subscription and redemption terms, suitable liquidity provisions
    • Advising on strategic investment terms, where applicable
        • Identifying the profile of the target investor base
        • Advising on presentation and delivery of marketing documents
        • Defining and executing a successful marketing strategy; how, when and where
        • Giving infrastructure advice; providing identification of best-in class Service providers – Auditors, Custodians, Prime Brokers, Counsel

Our Team

Richard Landsberger

Director

Richard founded Award Capital Advisory in 2009 after a successful 30 year capital markets and investment management career. He began his career in 1979 in New York as a market maker in US Government Agencies with A.G. Becker and Co. He then went on to hold senior fixed income sales and trading roles, including Head of US Government Agency Trading with Merrill Lynch and Co, and Global Head of US Interest Rate Trading and Sales for Citibank N.A. Richard and his family have lived in London for the past 22 years.  From 1993-2000, he was a Managing Director of Fixed Income Sales with PaineWebber with overall responsibility for the firm’s coverage of sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds and family offices in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In 2001, Richard joined Fairfield Greenwich Group (FGG), where he was Head of Business Development. During his time at FGG, Richard oversaw the diversification of the company’s asset manager pool and assets under management, which grew from $3.5bln to $16bln.  He also helped to significantly broaden its client base both institutionally and geographically across Asia, Europe and the Middle East. Richard holds an MBA in Finance from Cornell University, and a BSc degree from Boston University.

David Henry

Analyst

David joined Award in September 2013, following his internship with us in 2012.   Prior to joining Award on a permanent basis, David completed his studies in Economics & Political Science at the University of Birmingham, where he received the Paul Hunt Prize for the best undergraduate dissertation on his degree programme.
